The third volume of Secret Techniques explains how Bruce Lee trained and perfected his skills. It contains blocking and combat training techniques.

Attack and defense at the highest levels of skill. Bruce Lee dazzled the worlds of martial arts and film like a meteor. On July 20, 1973, however, he vanished like a meteor in Hong Kong, snatched by a sudden death at the premature age of 32. Bruce Lee began his martial arts studies with Wing Chun, under the tutelage of the late Yip Man, to overcome the personal insecurity brought on by city life in Hong Kong. Perhaps because his training had led him to the brink of fanaticism, he was able to mature and refine himself to become a philosopher, technician, and innovator of the martial arts. After intensive study of various styles and theories, Bruce Lee developed a unique technique, which he later named Jeet Kune Do, the technique of the arresting punch. He emulated his predecessors in martial arts (over two thousand books), but also in his formal education (a master's degree in philosophy from the University of Washington, Seattle). Lee also combined his martial arts prowess with his knowledge of cinematic acting techniques, starring in several films: The Big Boss, Fists of Fury, Way of the Dragon, and Enter the Dragon. Bruce Lee's death left martial arts fans and his films in a state of disbelief. Due to the growing demand for more information about him, his Jeet Kune Do was published, now followed by this series of books on Bruce Lee's Secret Techniques. This is the third volume in the series and explains how Bruce Lee trained and perfected his skills. It contains blocking and combat training techniques.

Bruce Lee, Mitoshi Uyehara

(San Francisco 1940 - Hong Kong 1973) in 1953, at the age of 13, he began practicing Wing Chun-style Kung Fu. He seemed so apt at this art that he abandoned his career as a dancer. From that moment, a new life began for the young Bruce. Throughout his life, Bruce not only studied martial arts but also learned various philosophical concepts from his master Yip Man, including the philosophy of Buddha, Confucius, Lao Tzu, and the founders of Taoism. In 1959, Bruce returned to San Francisco where he studied and began teaching Kung Fu. During this period, he won numerous tournaments and attracted the attention of many directors with his performances. In Los Angeles, Bruce Lee began his acting career, starring in the popular television series The Green Hornet, playing the role of Kato. During that period, Bruce also taught Kung Fu to many famous actors. He also began publishing his first books on his new art, "Jeet Kune Do." Until then, he had limited himself to writing down all his thoughts on martial arts, developing this new style. With his extensive knowledge, he was able to establish and improve many techniques he had previously learned. Bruce acted in 25 films and television series. In 1972, in one of his best Kung Fu films, Return of the Dragon, Bruce starred alongside Chuck Norris, Danny DeVito, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. On July 20, 1973, he died in Hong Kong: the cause remains a major mystery.

Mitoshi Uyehara was the founder and owner of Black Belt Magazine. During the publication's early years, Uyehara published many of Bruce Lee's articles, and a friendship developed between them. Uyehara, a martial arts practitioner himself, was instrumental in organizing all of Bruce Lee's material for the publication.
